When my mom was a little girl, her slightly taller twin sister would get down on her knees and color on the wall. Of course since it was right at my mom’s eye level she would always be the one getting in trouble. Pretty creative thinking on my aunt’s part, huh?
Today’s story is about another mischievous child who likes to get creative with the home decor. Meet Cave Baby by Julia Donaldson.

This is our Cave Baby, happy in his cave. His mum makes great cave drawings, and his dad is very brave.
One day though, Cave baby gets bored. To pass the time he decides to paint, just like he’d seen his mother do!
His parents, however, are not too happy…
That night, a wolly mammoth takes Cave Baby from his bed! What on earth is going to happen?
Cave Baby sees many things on his journey, like a laughing hyena and a great sabertooth tiger…
But finally Cave Baby arrives at the mammoth’s home. The mammoth hands him a paint brush…
And Cave Baby creates some of the most beautiful paintings the mammoth and his family have ever seen!
But now they have to get back home! What do you think happens then?
You’ll have to read the book to find out!
