If you’re unfamiliar with the story of The Paper Bag Princess, then you’re in for a treat. It starts off as a typical story of a princess, Princess Elizabeth, is in love with the handsome Prince Ronald. Everything looks like it’s going to go splendidly for Elizabeth and Ronald, but low and behold…

Thar be dragons in this story.

I remember being read this story as a child, and being delighted with the unconventional Princess Elizabeth (who shares my name), as well as her unconventional ending.

She bravely goes forth and fights off the dragon in only her paper bag dress. Of course Little Liz was disappointed that Princess Elizabeth had to lose her pretty dresses (*sigh*), but the ending was still the best part.

Check out this classic book, The Paper Bag Princess, either at Kids Nook or in a bookstore near you.
