Buttons for Pete

This week at Kids Nook we told another groovy tale of Pete the Cat, our favorite cool cat. After learning about his faaaavorite shirt, and it’s four groovy buttons that keep getting away, we decided to help Pete find his buttons and never lose them again!

Once we gave Pete back his buttons, we thought it would be nice for us to make a him a Big Colorful Button! We used our paintbrushes…

And even our fingers!

Pretty cool huh? Join us next Monday for a look at how we re-imaged the story of the Three Little Pigs into something a little more Istanbul friendly 🙂 And remember: keep on singing!

Kids Nook Loves Pete the Cat!

Pete’s a pretty cool cat isn’t he? We sure think so, and so do our kids at Sensory Storytime! They loved Pete and his white shoes so much they decided to make some shoes of their own!

First they had to pick out their favorite colored “shoe strings” (made of colored spahgetti)/

Then they mixed the blueberries and strawberries together.

After that we painted our shoes to make some great designs!

But oh no! Everything got washed away! Now we had our white shoes again!

Do you have your own cool ways of playing with Pete the Cat? Let us know in the comments below!

Lovely Little Links (Valentine’s Day)

This Saturday is Valentine’s Day, and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s one of my favorite holidays! There’s just something so refreshing about a holiday that injects a little color and love into the middle of a gross snowy winter.

Here are some great ideas to help you celebrate this special day with your kids!

Getting Messy With Pete the Cat

This week we’re telling the story of the coolest cat around: Pete the Cat with his awesome white shoes.

We played all kinds of games, including lacing and coloring our very own shoes!

But the best game of all was when we got to expirement with making different colors! Making blue…

Into purple!

We are not afraid of getting a little messy here at Kids Nook !
